LIMA — Russell C. (Bud) Laman Jr. age 70, passed away on November 12, 2013 at 1:10 P.M., in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born to the late Russell C. Laman Sr. and Caroline R. Bodiker-Laman in Lima, Ohio on October 14, 1943. He married the former Phyllis Chaffins February 13, 1960 and she survives in Lima.

He is survived by two sons Russell J. Laman and Richard A. Laman of Lima, three daughters, Debra Goecke, Angela J. Laman, and Jennifer L. (Darren) Dailey, all of Lima, and a sister Linda (Carl) Neeley, of Leonardtown, Maryland. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.

He was self-employed for most of his life; first with Laman Trucking and finally as owner and operator of the Fairview Coal Company at 700 N. Union St. from 1973 until 2005. He considered his service to his coal customer's a privilege and a special duty that he took great pride in performing.

He was an avid Green Bay Packers and Boston Celtics fan. Bud also enjoyed gardening, working with flowers, and repairing and restoring anything from houses to machinery and cars. He loved traveling with his wife and often his entire family. He also enjoyed entertaining family and friends for special occasions. He will be sadly missed by his loving family and friends and especially by his devoted and protective dog, Ace.

Services will be held Friday, November 15, 2013 at 6:00 P.M. at Chiles Laman Funeral and Cremation Services Shawnee Chapel on Shawnee Road. Rev. Terry Ayers will officiate.

Friends may call from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. At Chiles Laman Funeral and Cremation Services Shawnee Chapel
