LIMA — James B. Marshall, Jr., 73, of rural Lima, died at 1:54 AM Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at his residence with his family and friends at his side.
He was born March 13, 1943 in Staffordsville, Ky., a son of James B. and Geneva Ward Marshall, Sr., who are deceased. On October 29, 1964 he married Linda L. Houtz, who died May 26, 2011 .
Jim was a 1961 graduate of Lima Senior High School and is a graduate of the Purdue University in Biomedical Engineering. He went on to serve in the U.S. Air Force in the Vietnam War from 1964 thru 1967 as a Radio and Electronic Tech., then as a Sergeant he served in the Air Force Reserves thru 1970. He retired from the Synergy Health Company in Lima as a Bio-Medical Engineer.
Surviving are two children; Duane B. Marshall of Toledo and Marie A. (Steven) Erb II of Spencerville: two grandchildren; Brent A. (Victoria Christy) Erb and Jason L. Erb, both of Spencerville; a great grandson Elijah; two siblings; Lana K. Andrews of Kansas and Mark William Marshall of Alaska and Jim's Special Friend; Barb Brinkman of Ottawa.
He enjoyed his Ham Radio, fishing and motorcycling.
Funeral services will be at 11 AM Friday in the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville with the Rev. Andrew J. Atkins officiating with military rites to follow at the funeral home by the Spencerville Veterans. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery at Elida.
Friends may call from 4 until 8 PM Thursday and after 10 AM Friday at the funeral home.
