LIMA -- Eva Odell Peppers "Susie", age 79, went into the warm embrace of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 11:05 a.m. on Friday, January 20, 2023. She was born in Florence, Alabama on September 23, 1943 to Lee Polen Martin and Ida Webster. Both parents preceded her in death.

Eva was a faithful member of Philippian Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board as President for many years. She was known to be the matriarch of her family. From the age of 12 years old she took care of people and always encouraged her family to stick together. Eva retired from Ford Motor Company after 30 years of service.

Eva loved gardening and cooking. She was known to make the best pound cake. She also was an avid bowler for 40 years. She received the title as the Top African American Female Bowler in Lima, Ohio. Eva also won the Lima City Singles tournament in 1981. Eva was the love of everyone's life. Her generosity, grace and overall presence will be greatly missed.

Eva leaves to cherish her precious memories are her 5 children: Melody F. Martin of Lima, OH, Darren J. (Michelle) Martin and Guy A. (Elizabeth) Martin both of Columbus, OH, Todd E. Martin of Atlanta, GA, Malcolm C. (Stacy) Martin of Lima, OH; a fur-baby, Gracie; a brother, Clarence Martin of Lima, OH; 5 sisters: Carol J. Butler of Lima, OH, Linda K. Dukes of Columbus, OH, Martha Burton of Middletown, OH, Ilene Mills of Lima, OH and Lenore Crisp of Fort Wayne, IN; 19 Grandchildren, 29 Great-Grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her brother, Lee P. Martin Jr and a sister, Laurine Wash.

Home Going Services will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at Philippian Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Dr. B. LaMont Monford Sr. Officiating.

Visitation/Wake services will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. also at the church.

Interment: Memorial Park Cemetery
