LAKEVIEW - James E. Morse, 76, of Lakeview, OH, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2019 at OSU Wexner Medical Center, Columbus, OH. James was born on July 20, 1942 in Lima, OH, a son of the late Charles F. and Opal G. Dorman Morse. He was also preceded in death by three siblings, Chuck Joan and Jackie Morse.
Jim married Janel Stuber on July 21, 2001 in Lima, and she survives. He is also survived by four children, James "Mitch" (Candy) Morse of Lima, Steven E. (Kendra) Morse of Phoenix, AZ, Todd A. Morse of Lakeview, and Addalyn Morse at home, a stepdaughter, Luann Moody of St. Louis, MO, 10 grandchildren, Sean Morse, Bridgett Morse, Shari Tessler, Heather Bracy, Shelby Morse, Tanner Morse, Dakota Johnson, Drew Faye, Briana Morse and Keygan Morse, three great-grandchildren, Alexandria Morse, Ayden and Carson Bracy, a brother, Richard Morse of Lakeview, and Kim Wireman, his special caregiver and sister-in-law.
Jim was a 1961 graduate of Lima Senior High School. He was a United States Army veteran serving during Vietnam. Jim worked at Accubuilt Superior Coach in Lima for 42 years, retiring in 2000. He was a member of Doyle R. Miller Amvets Post 39, and Indian Lake Moose Lodge #1533, both of Lakeview, Wapakoneta Eagles Aeries #691, and American Legion Post #1969 and VFW Post #1275, both of Lima. Jim was an avid OSU Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns, and NASCAR Jeff Gordon fan. He enjoyed golfing, boating and fishing. Jim loved spending time with family and socializing with friends.
A celebration of Jim's life will be held at Doyle R Miller Amvets Post #39, February 3, 2019 from 2-5 pm with military rites performed by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard at 3:00 pm
