LIMA — William K. "Bill" Patterson, 72, passed away 10:27 a.m. Monday, February 24, 2014 at his residence.
He was born December 1, 1941 to the late Ronald A. and Neva Louise (Thompson) Patterson. On October 28, 1987 he married Darlene L. (Lentz) Patterson, who survives in Lima.
Mr. Patterson was a graduate of Lima Senior High School. He is a veteran of the United States Marines, belonging to American Legion Post #96, Mens Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1275, life member of the AMVETS, and life member of Marine Corps League. Bill loved his wife, children, grandchildren , and his dogs and cats. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and listening to music.
He is survived by 3 children, Kimberly L. (Randall) Roof, Ronald L. (Sheila) Patterson, and Shelly R. Shreves, all of Spencerville; 2 step children, Jerry L. (Julie) Gillespie, of Toledo, and Richard W. (Nicole) Gillespie, of Lima; 16 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by 2 brothers, Albert Patterson, and Dorance Patterson, and a sister, Anna Dell Keller.
Graveside services will begin 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 28, 2014 in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Pastor David Thompson will officiate. CHILES – LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES are in charge of arrangements. Military Rites will be provided by VFW #1275.
