ALAN REIFF

Alan Jay Reiff, 70, Naples Florida, passed away on July 29, 2013 at Avow Hospice. Alan was born in Lima Ohio on January 24, 1943.

Alan will be remembered as a loving husband, cherished father and grandfather, true friend, tireless worker, and gentle caregiver to all the two and four-legged creatures that passed through his life.  He graduated from Lima Senior High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree from The Ohio State University.  Alan was married to Lisli Reiff on May 10, 1986, they were married 27 years.

Alan owned and operated Chillicothe Heating and Air Conditioning in Chillicothe Ohio. He moved to Florida to work in marketing and engineering for Warren Manufacturing in Hialeah. Alan joined the Barclay-Wood organization in Springfield Virginia in 1986 before founding Mid-South Marketing, a manufactures’ representative company based in Charlotte North Carolina and later Southeast Representatives of Florida, before settling in to semi-retirement where he was known as the “behind the scenes guy’ at Naples Safari Animal Hospital & Pet Resort.  A true Buckeye fan, Alan always wore the Scarlet and Gray with pride.

Alan is survived by his wife, Lesli; son, Bruce (Rhonda) Reiff of Lewis Center Ohio; daughter, Kelley Reiff Crabtree of Durham North Carolina; their mother, Dona Smith of Stout Ohio; sister, Phyllis (Dan) Huffer of Savannah Georgia; brother, Donald (Nancy) Reiff of Elida Ohio; sister0in0law, Joyce  Reiff of Savannah Georgia,; grandchildren, Nicole Reiff and Victoria Reiff of Lewis Center, Ohio and many extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Reiff; his mother, Sylvia Naylor Reiff ; and brother, Eddy Lee Reiff.

A celebration of his life is planned for a later date. Alan would be proud for memorial donations to be given to the Humane Society of the United States
