Stephen Michael Watters, 57, died at 9:05am May 4, 2001 at his residence
He was born November 3, 1943 in Lima to Richard E and Virginia C Obenour Watters. His mother survives in Lima. On December 21, 1974 he married Brenda K Clymer, who survives.
Mr Watters retired as a process superintendent from the Lima refinery, after 32 years, where he had also worked as a stationary steam engineer. He was a member of St John United Methodist church and the Men’s Bible Study at the Good shepherd Church, both in Columbus Grove. He was a member of American Legion Post 516, Columbus Grove and the BP golf league, Quarter Century Club and retirees Breakfast Club. He was a graduate of Lima Senior High School and Bailey Diesel Tech School, St Louis. He was a Navy veteran serving in the SEALS. He enjoyed golfing, boating and traveling.
Survivors also include three sons, Stephen (Kristen) Watters of Clearwater Florida, Douglas Watters of Pandora and Grant (Lydia) Lamb of Lima; three daughters, Jennifer (Jack) Russell of Fort Myers Florida, Stacie (Mark) Kohls of Columbus Grove and Beth (Jared) Oder of Springfield; a brother, David Watters of Reynoldsburg; and nine grandchildren
He was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Watters.
Services will begin at 11am Monday at St John United Methodist Church, Columbus Grove. The Revs Gary Ginter and James Mason will officiate. Burial will be in Truro Cemetery, Columbus Grove. Memorial contributions may be made to Putnam County Hospice or St John United Methodist Church.
