February 16, 2019 was a big day for Lima Senior High school. Nominees for the second annual Sports Hall of Fame ceremony were presented and congratulated at the UNOH Event Center in Lima Saturday evening. More than five hundred attended the dinner ceremony. The list of inductees included past coaches of various sports, individual athletes and teams for their excellence while representing our school in years past. One team in particular included people from the class of 1961. That team was the baseball state runners up in 1960 with a record of seventeen wins and just two losses. Those from among our class were Larry Seay, John Siegler, David Bowers, Vance Shuman, John Provost and Ron Bice. Family members represented Shuman, Provost and Bice. A tip of the cap to these great athletes.

For 2019 the class of LSH 1961 luncheons will continue to be the fifth Wednesday of the month. Our next gathering will be July 31st at a new restaurant, the Eagles, at 800 West Robb avenue in Lima. We will meet at noon as before. Hope to see you there.
